Sober In The City: Connection, Community and Alcohol-Free Friendship
This past weekend, I had the honor of attending Sober in the City in beautiful, vibrant Scottsdale, AZ—and I’m still feeling the joy and deep connection that comes from being surrounded by women walking this alcohol-free path.
From the moment we gathered, there was an energy that can only come from being truly seen and understood. Imagine laughing, dancing, hugging and sharing stories—all without alcohol. And not just without alcohol—but because we’ve let go of alcohol, we get to experience it all more vividly.
One of the powerful themes that emerged throughout the weekend was nervous system regulation—how we can heal and thrive by tending to our internal state. From expert talks on trauma and embodiment to casual pool-side chats that turned into deep-healing conversations, the message was clear: when we create safe spaces, we create transformation.
The weekend reminded me that connection is a vital part of the alcohol-free journey. These women weren’t just attendees—they were friends, cheerleaders, mirrors, and co-regulators. And our fun? Off the charts. Singing, dancing, exploring Scottsdale—fully present and fully ourselves.
We don’t need alcohol to loosen up. We need each other.
We don’t need wine to feel joy. We need laughter and belonging.
And we don’t need to escape our lives—we’re learning to embrace them.
If you’ve ever wondered what it’s like to connect with others in a real, sober space, this episode of The Sober Edge gives you a peek behind the curtain. I share takeaways, highlights, and heartfelt moments from this unforgettable weekend.
