Ep. 87 The Graceful Journey: A Health Coach’s Guide to Aging with Strength and Beauty, with Jacqui Garrison

My podcast guest this week, Jacqui Garrison, is a certified health coach who helps women explore aging with grace. Jacqui lived her life believing she was healthy and creating good health by doing all the right things. It wasn’t until she was diagnosed with severe osteoporosis and told ‘this is just your lot in life’ that she started to explore what healthy really meant. Jacqui realized that she had been naive and under educated about how to create optimal health. She set out to explore how to heal her body and along the way decided to share this new found knowledge with others. Jacqui now believes that good health means living with the ability to move your body, the ability to recover quickly and to play hard at any age!

In our conversation Jacqui shares the 4 key pillars to aging gracefully: sleep, nutrition, mindfulness and movement. She also shares a few of her favorite mindfulness practices and her favorite meditation for falling asleep. Jacqui’s training and philosophy are so similar to my own that we share a chuckle about being the rare breed of nutritionists who don’t tell our clients what to eat but instead empower you to learn what fuels your body the old fashioned way – through trial and observation!

Jacqui really shines when it comes to helping women move through menopause feeling lighter and brighter. She believes that women in middle life can embrace this season with a new found excitement about what’s next vs. now what?

Jacqui Garrison is a Health Coach for women in midlife who want to live life to its fullest. She has recently settled in San Diego CA after being mobile for almost 8 years traveling by boat and RV full time. Jacqui is a proud life-long learner who  retired after 25 years as a career educator. Entering retirement and menopause, Jacqui was also diagnosed with osteoporosis. Refusing to become old and frail, Jacqui did three years of extensive research along with becoming certified in Holistic Health Coaching through the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. Jacqui has a passion for helping women understand our midlife bodies and how to live our best life while aging gracefully. Jacqui loves to hike, fish and walk and spend time with her two amazing daughters and four beautiful grandchildren.
