Episode 34: Chronic Pain, Sleep & Alcohol with Annie Miller

This is your brain, this is your brain on pain. For those enduring chronic pain, there is a new method to ease suffering and improve the quality of life. My guest, Annie Miller, introduces us to the new field of Pain Reprocessing Therapy. Annie shares the key to changing the way your brain interprets pain and the neuroscience of how pain and the brain work together. We also touch on her expertise in CBTI (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia) and the role alcohol plays in both sleep and pain. This episode is packed with practical tips to manage insomnia and chronic pain and brings a message of hope to those struggling with chronic pain.

Annie Miller is a licensed psychotherapist in private practice in the Washington DC area. She is the owner and founder of DC Metro Sleep and Psychotherapy.

Annie specializes in working with sleep disorders, chronic pain, and trauma. Annie uses a variety of evidence-based techniques, including CBT-i for insomnia, EMDR for trauma, CBT for anxiety disorders, and PRT (pain reprocessing therapy) for chronic pain.
