Episode 49: Balance Your Brain to Beat Cravings with Chris Engen

Imagine if you could elevate your mood, kick cravings to the curb and break the cycle of overdrinking forever! My guest today specializes in using Amino Acid Therapy to help those with an alcohol-use disorder get off the roller coaster of stopping and starting when it comes to drinking. I really enjoyed this conversation and I learned so much about neuro transmitters and the importance of balancing our brains. This episode goes deep into the science and highlights the importance of getting the individualized support we need on this journey to living our best and healthiest lives.

Chris Engen is Board Certified in Holistic Nutrition (BCHN ™) and holds a Nutrition Consultant Certificate (NC) from Bauman College of Holistic Nutrition and Culinary Arts. She  also holds an Advanced Certification as a Recovery Nutrition Coach (CRNC2) for  Nutritional Therapy / Amino Acid Therapy from The Academy for Addiction and Mental Health Nutrition.

Chris specializes in Amino Acid Therapy, the use of supplemental amino acids to replenish depleted neurotransmitter systems. Amino Acid therapy helps people balance their brains so they can cope with stress and make good choices for their lives. Amino acids and a high protein diet changed her own  life and were the MISSING PIECE in her recovery program.Since then, Chris has helped hundreds of people successfully use amino acids to curb their cravings for alcohol, sugar and other substances and addictive behaviors. Chris believes that Amino Acid Therapy is not just for addiction but to aid us all in balancing our inner world so we can show up for ourselves and others.

Highlights:
