Episode 66 – I Drink Differently with Susie Streelman

One of the hardest parts of this alcohol-free movement can be the stigma of socializing while sober. I find it fascinating that people are so concerned with what we are drinking and why.

We have been conditioned to believe that alcohol helps us relax and have fun and lowers our inhibitions, allowing us to connect more easily with others. And then there is the challenge of getting a decent AF drink; Shirley Temple’s, Coke Zero and water can leave us feeling like an outsider with a neon sign “I’m not drinking”.

My guest on the podcast this week, Susie Streelman, took the challenge of creating an inclusive event for socializing while AF and has created a MOVEMENT. Susie shares her own journey from ‘professional breaker’ to the founder of Zero Proof Experiences. Her mission is to create an experience that furthers the belief that we don’t need alcohol to have fun. Listen in as Susie and I talk about the power of inclusivity, the importance of stepping forward, and how you can embrace your own Zero Proof Experience.
