Seven years ago, I walked into a church basement in Colorado to become part of the very first This Naked Mind coaching certification.
I came home with so much more than a certification.
In this episode, I’m reflecting on the journey from that first weekend to coaching hundreds of people, building programs, starting this podcast, and continually refining what I believe helps people create lasting alcohol freedom.
I talk about the lessons that never changed, the ideas that absolutely did, and why I now coach differently than I did when I first began.
You’ll hear about the framework that still guides every coaching conversation, why I eventually shifted to working exclusively with people committed to a 90-day alcohol-free break, and why curiosity may be one of the greatest gifts we can cultivate.
If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re “allowed” to change your mind as you grow, this episode is for you.
In this episode we discuss:
- The story behind becoming one of the very first This Naked Mind coaches
- Why experience has shaped my coaching more than any certification
- The HRT framework: Hope, Relationship, and Tactics
- What I learned from coaching hundreds of clients
- Why I now ask clients to commit to 90 alcohol-free days
- The power of making one decision instead of hundreds
- Why changing your mind is often evidence of growth—not inconsistency
