When I stopped drinking, one of the most important projects I ever took on was Project Me.
I learned about my brain. I learned about habits and behavior. I became more connected to my body. I discovered what lit me up, what drained me and what had been muted by alcohol.
All of that work mattered.
But at some point, aren’t the tools supposed to give us something back—our lives?
In this episode, I’m exploring the line between growth and constant self-improvement. Because somewhere along the way, wellness culture started telling us that everything could be optimized. Our sleep. Our workouts. Our food. Our morning routines. Our longevity. Even our happiness.
I’m still a huge fan of learning and growing, but I don’t want to spend my life feeling perpetually unfinished.
We’ll talk about noticing your energy flow and energy snags, why novelty can make life feel richer and even more expansive, the difference between going broad and going deep, and why I’m experimenting with “daily-ish” instead of all-or-nothing when it comes to movement.
And I leave you with one question that may be worth sitting with this week:
If I stopped trying to improve myself for one week, what would I do with all that extra time and energy?
If you are curious about doing less and living more, it might be time for a nervous system check – in. Be sure and tune into TEA with Teri every other Wednesday where I share more tools and help all of us create a little bit more space.
